Gary Qiu
Gary Qiu was born in a remote village straddling the border of Guangdong and Guangxi provinces—once among the poorest regions in China. His family’s history is marked by resilience amid hardship. During the early years of the People’s Republic, a devastating famine claimed many lives, including Gary’s great-grandfather. Left to support the family alone, Gary’s great-grandmother worked tirelessly for a local landlord’s household, instilling in her son—Gary’s grandfather—a relentless work ethic and a dream of one day owning a home of their own.
Driven by this vision, Gary’s grandfather took on arduous jobs others avoided, never complaining nor blaming circumstances. His reputation for integrity and helpfulness grew, making him a trusted figure in the community. Through over a decade of sacrifice, he finally purchased a neighbor’s property in 1938, on the eve of World War II, realizing the family’s long-held dream. As a father, he raised his children with discipline and a sense of duty, emphasizing that they become pillars of the family. This upbringing, rooted in a military-family tradition, shaped Gary’s worldview: he learned to act with precision, uphold commitments, and seek tangible outcomes—principles that mirror the military ethos of “orders given, results delivered.”
